Bernhard Brink Vermögen – Besides being a German pop singer, Bernhard Brink is also a TV and radio host. Bernard Butler, the son of an architect, moved to Berlin in the early 1970s and enrolled in the city’s University of Law. He put off finishing his degree because he was more interested in music. After 16 semesters, he was expelled for failing to take any tests. Instead, Hansa Records signed Brink to his first recording contract.

He has a total of twelve singles in the German sales charts between 1974 and 1981. The sung version of Ricky King’s Le rêve, Liebe auf Zeit, was his biggest chart hit to date, peaking at number 13. With the help of his titles, he was able to build a following. For the most part, his books were remakes of popular American songs. Peter Orloff’s record company was no exception, relying on the likes of Frei und Abrannt and I Would Like to Be Like You, written by Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman (both 1979).

When the popularity of German pop music began to wane in the 1980s, Brink made a series of career moves to smaller and smaller record labels. While its appeal waned around the middle of the 1980s, its productions lingered on the market unnoticed. He failed the preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest six times, more than any other performer. Gilda and Ireen Sheer were his duet partners in both attempts. Matthias Reim was the name of the German pop singer he worked with from 1989 to 1991.

The 1990s saw Brink take on the role of hit music radio and television host. The Berlin radio station Hundert 6 and television shows like Das Deutsche Schlager-Magazin or Schlager des Jahres used him as a host and a moderator. This helped him rediscover his prior level of fame, which he could then use to future projects. He found fame as a performer again in the early 1990s. In 1991, with the song Geh (before I absolutely lose my head), he came in second to Nicole at the First German Song Festival.

On September 2, 2007, Brink replaced longtime Antenne Brandenburg radio host Ekki Göpelt as host of the Sunday fun broadcast. A cameo appearance by Brink in the 2009 film Horst Schlämmer – Isch kandidiere! poked fun at his status as a C-list star. Brink was a contestant on Let’s Dance with Sarah Latton in 2014, which aired on RTL.

Xenophobia and violence are tolerated in our society simply have no place,” Brink reacted on the 2018 Chemnitz riots, saying that he was “glad,” “though time we would like #wirsindmehr asked crooner by concert organisers.” Bernhard Brink married administrator Ute in 1987 after he met her in 1981 and they got married two years later.
